These ideas/innovative concepts could be new ways of approaching and/or solving problems stifling technological advancement or applications that could make life easier.

What is it all about??

Ideas - we've all had them before!! The ones that result in the "A-ha!" experience. However, here's what is new!! The CSE Grad Club is providing an oppurtunity for all CSE Graduate students to present their ideas to the members of the Industry Advisory Board of CSE@UTA!!

These ideas could be new ways of approaching and/or solving problems stifling technological advancement OR applications/services that could make life easier OR even concepts, that you have thought of, that are innovative.

Your audience will be the members of the IAB which consists of the following companies:

1. Cyneta Networks Inc.
2. Dallas Semiconductor Corp.
3. Ericsson
4. Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company
5. Raytheon
6. Sabre Inc.
7. Santech Industries
8. Unisoft Corporation

In the Final Proposal, you will highlight to the members of the IAB the problem that you have identified, the status of your research, what you intend to achieve at the end of your research and how you think your research might be relevant to the companies on the IAB. You will have 15 minutes to present your proposal to the IAB during their next regular meeting in November.

The Prizes!

The best 3 proposals will be selected by the CSE faculty. The author(s) of the 3 selected proposals will present to the IAB and the members of the IAB will select the winners. The winners will be awarded prizes as follows:

2nd prize is: $150 per team

Victory to CSE!!!

CSE team beats IE team in the cricket match!!

A resounding victory to the CSE Cricket Team!! The CSE team has won the first ever Cricket match played between the two Engineering departments in UTA. Packed with all the ingredients of an exciting game of Cricket, it was game well-played by both the teams!!

The CSE Grad Club would like to thank both, the IE and CSE Cricket teams. Special thanks to Dr.Donald Liles, Chair of the IE department and Dr.Mary Johnson from the IE department for having been there throughout the game and for actively cheering the teams. We thank both the departments for supporting this endeavour in spirit as well as financially.

No game is complete without cheering!! We'd like to thank the audience from the IE department and the audience from CSE (which included some supporters from EE!!).

Game Details :

IE won the toss and elected to field. The CSE team batted with grit and patience. On a pitch which was difficult to bat on, every CSE batsman chipped in with valuable contributions to the teams' total score of 69 runs in 16 overs.

CSE bowled with tremendous discipline maintaining a strict line and length which rewarded them with early wickets. IE chasing a target of 70 runs to win in 16 overs, finally had to score 12 runs in 2 overs with 4 wickets in hand. If thats already not exciting enough.....keep reading..

It came down to 7 balls to go - 8 runs to win - 4 wickets in hand! And then some classy fielding and good bowling by the CSE team.....IE suffered 3 run outs in succession!!! With 4 balls remaining - 8 runs to win - and 1 wicket in hand....lets just say that the pressure got better of the IE team, they lost their last wicket with 1 ball remaining and 8 runs to win!! The rest is history:-)

The winner of the draw was to receive a Scholarship of $1000, and in-state tuition till Summer '02 after answering a few computer science related questions.

The event was open for all UTA student\faculty\staff. The CSE community enthusiastically participated in the event, which turned out to be a great success.
